This weekend we visited our kids. While there, I set up a folder under my documents on their PC and went to net and captured some images and dumped in that file. My daughter copied (or burned) that file for me onto a CD-R.

I brought that disk home and thought I would be able to copy that file onto our PC. When trying it in my "D" drive (the CD rom drive we've always had) it says that drive is not accessible. Even after waiting 5 minutes for it to perhaps read the CD, it still says not accessible. I then tried it in the burner drive (E) and when double clicking on the E drive icon, a screen comes up showing nothing -- as if CD is empty. When going thru Windows Explorer, there is a plus sign to left of the E drive, but when clicking on it, it just appears blank under the E in the list of things.

It worked fine at their house. My other CD's work fine on our PC here at home. Any ideas?

in reply to problem reading disk that was copied on sisters drive, you don't mention as to what format was used and most importently wether the disk was finalised, you see you need to finalise a disk if you whant it to be recognised, as regard to format is your sisters computer a mac or pc and if yes, did she use
the udf format.

you see the problem is you need to give more info, so as to enable me or anyone else to give you a precise answer, or even better by following my quitions you will probleby come to the right concluesion anyway. so please check it out.

bye for now.

Tks for responding -- I have found out it's "incompatible". She didn't do any of what you mentioned and should have. I'm just recapturing. Tks again.
