When I tried to copy an audio disk I got the error "invalid field in parameter" error.

I used "helptoolen" and found that if I closed the wizard and selected disk copy from the menu then disabled the ISRC reading option, it worked - or it didn't.

The problem is when you disable the option then change tab to look at something else, Nero re-enables this option!

So you have to disable it then immediately copy - then it works.

Since I seem to have to disable this EVERY time or copy doesn't work (dunno why) is there any way to make the option be permanently disabled so I can use the wizard - nice and quick see?

Yes, that is a known problem with some drives.

We do not yet have a feature in Preferences to set this to a prefered Default setting, but we will be looking into it.

Best way to find out is place the CD in your recorder, and use it as both source and destination for the write attempt. If you do not get the error message, you know it's your other drive.

i have exactly the same prob (with 5564). only with copy nero does this. in the end i copied the audio cd with feurio. i hope future releases of nero will fix this problem, cuz it sux. but dont worry: nero is still my number one!! (ex aequo with feurio for audio

A friend of mine had this problem with a LiteOn Ltr-16102B.
I had time to try a lot of different settings. The writer did not burn any cd at all, it did not even simulate, always the same error message (a few days before it had worked quite well, so i considered it to be a software problem).
Nevertheless i upgraded firmware first, no change. Nero 5.5.3.5 did not work, tried WinOnCD 3.8, same error. Updated to Nero 5.5.6.4 but made no difference at all. Dis/enabling DMA did not help, too
Then i looked up the system drivers:
Aspi was 4.60 , i made no changes to this.
Via 4in1 was version 4.35 and seemed to be properly installed
but the IDE drivers were not installed (as i had had some problems with these in the past i did not really mind).
I updated to 4.37 without installing the IDE drivers, it did not work!
kind of frustrated i installed the VIA drivers again, but this time with IDE drivers and to my surprise everything worked very well from that moment on!

That's what VIA calls their Drivers.

If you have the VIA chipset, and you do not have, or you do not know if you have their latest drivers, go to www.viahardware.com to obtain their latest 4in1 drivers.

Solved a few issues I have with a Dual Processor under W2K, as well as other issues I'm sure.

What are you problems exactly?


Are you able to get to the point where you are able to begin the write operation? If yes, please send a copy of the Nero log file from the failed write attempt to me at techsupport4@nero.com. Or you could copy and paste in here, but it's a lot of data to post here.

If not, please give exact sequence of events, and exact error message.

And of course I assume you have the latest Nero 5.5.6.4.

Saw you work on the factory....
I did not look at the date of what you wrote, but I am trying to get a 12102B to work now for several days, and nothing works!
After installing the drive for the first time everything did work well.
Suddenly problems, audio copiing did not work.
For writing (audio only?) the drive is not recognized.
Upgrated already the drivers from my mainboard, Nero to 5.5, tried working with Win 98 SE, Or Win 2000Pro, nothing works!
Adaptec easy Cd creating and direct Cd give the same problems.

Do not know what to do more.

Do you have a suggestion? The drive is only 3 monts old!

This problem still occurs even with the newest release, although, disks created remain playable. However, the ISRC option seems to stay unchecked now.

It's very annoying that I keep getting this error and it's only on audio disk copy. How are you teeling from the log file that it is a read error? Is it this bit:

Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR)

or this:

Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

Is it the "ignore read errors" option that enables the burn to complete?

I'm trying to instal my old drive but can't get the flipping video card out (it's blocking the IDE cable connection) as it has some kind of odd screw with a six pointed star in it! Thus, I can't yet test your suggestion.

Based on the Nero log, if I am remebering this correctly, you get an Error message as soon as you begin the write. It appears to detect the media fine that it's going to write too, but as soon as it begins to analyse the Source CD you get your error messages begining.
