Just when you though it was safe to purchase an ION powered netbook, news about the NVidia ION 2 chipset surface again. Last we heard back in July it was due out this year and had 2x the shaders of the original ION as well as being half the size.

NVidia have confirmed to Fudzilla that the chipset will be shipping to customers this year. That means manufacturers, so that doesn't necessarily mean ION 2 powered devices out by the end of the year.

Furthermore, there is added support for processors other than the Intel Atom. VIA Nano and some “ultra low voltage stuff” will be compatible.
