A beta is "NOT" the latest update. The latest update to a program is the standard release.
A Beta is a "TEST" version of a program that could end up being the release candidate of the software that is being tested. Not all companies share their beta version, and in fact, most test in-house.
Some companies, do however share "stable" and "nonstable" beta versions of their software.
Just remember, if you are using a beta, it could contain bugs, and could cause harm to your system.
