Hello, I'm not sure what to call what I'm looking for but, you know how an exe file is kind of like a compacted file and it contains sound, music, and images for the program. well, is there a program that will extract all of those so that I could "for example" get the sounds out of a video game as .midi files?

... do I know what I'm talking about.... That question is the answer...

You would have to be the person that "wrote" the .exe program and have the key to decompile it, with the "Compiling" program you used when you made the file.

It's called reverse engineering and you need mad skills to the point that is all you're about... Would be something great to do with your time, say if you lived in Antartica and did not want to get out much... There is a life beyond the keyboard.... Sometimes is good to be a jack of all trades and the master of none.

This is all so terrible, so it's possible, but I'd need to devote my life and ruin everything to do it??? Screw that

Don't metiob that again, I looked it up on wikipedia and it's complexity scared me... scared me good... Anyway, to get off subject just a little bit, I extracted a lot of files from a WAD file in the folder "yes, my appliccation appears to be a game" and I got a ton of extensionless files that I dunno how to open/access, So I need one of two thing, either a program that will play them "assuming you know what I'm typing about, or a program the will analyze them and tell me the extension so i can further reaserch it myself... Thanks!

VisualBasic scared you?  It's probably the "easiest" language there is.  Wait, it's definately the easiest language for programming.

Remember who your talking to Mr. "I can probably make programs", lol. But anyway I even bought the program "Visual Basic" and I had no idea what I was doing, I dunno javascript or whatever you use, I can't even write a good batch command when I need to, but oh well, maybe it's just not for me.
