I'm a real novice at CD burning. Up until now, I've been using Take Two (part of easy CD creator 5 package) to backup my hard drive on CDs. Unfortunately, Take Two is not compatible with XP and Roxio is not gonna fix or replace it.

So I wanna know what other software options I have for backing up my hard drive on to CDs?

TIA

Rick

Your lucky day... Roxio have released a patch that makes Easy CD Creator 5 compatible with Win XP It's at http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/xpup.jhtml
But I'm not sure about Take Two. (You'll have to try it )

You get what you pay for...

sorry rick, but it says on this update page that take two will be disabled because it is incompatible with xp. i would recommend norton ghost 2002 or powerquest driveimage pro. i'm pretty sure the latest driveimage will work with xp but i know that ghost will. btw, the update is only for the platinum version and not the basic.

Norton Ghost 2001 or whatever the latest version should work fine. Also PowerQuest's Drive Image 4.0 (but limited to 4X writing speed) and Drive Image 5.0 (will use your writers max. speed) are other alternatives that support CD-R/RWs. I've had good luck with their products in the past - especially Partition Magic.

Hope this helps,

Neil
