I have been able to reliably and successfully burn Sony CD-RW 4X media using Nero 6.6.0.1 and my BenQ1640 for almost a year. I also have no problems burning to DVD media.

However, for some reason I cannot get this crappy Memorex CD-RW 24X media to burn at any speed. Each attemp at burning results in a "write" error. I seems to be able to "erase" the failed attempts at burning, but still I cannot get it to work.

I bought this stuff at Wal-Mart and I know it's crap, but I still can't believe that this stuff won't burn at any speed.

Is is something I am either doing or not doing ?

What can I do different ?

The Memorex you are talking about are CMC Mag and they are the absolute WORST CDRW media I have ever used. They won't even burn without errors at 4x on "ANY" drive I have tried to utilize.

Save yourself some headache, take them all and throw the rubbish in the trash now.....
