It now rips DAE at full speed!!!

And a CloneCD test, for the test I used an image of Max Payne because it's nearly 80min in size(79:37:54). It used 3min 58sec to complete the burn and that includes Lead-in/out and TOC....definitively not bad!!!

And the copy of Max Payne works like a charm, so it still supports Correct encoding of regular bit patterns!!!

Hi everybody!! :)

Since I've heared reports about greatly improved error skipping with CloneCD(something that I've not tried), I'll test later today

I'll try to read and write these games later today:

I'll find a safedisc game and try it, I'm sure I've many.
Max payne, which is Safedisc 2
Settlers 3, which is laserlock 1 and VERY hard to read.
Desperados, which is Laserlock 2 and VERY hard to read, normally takes hours.
Diablo 2 LOD, which is securom 2 and requires subchannel reading.

I'll read all the games from the originals!!!!

Plextor and lite-on is now nearly the same:
Plextor may have better support system, and in Europe you get a two year warranty.
Plextor is abit faster at CD-RW reading.
They've the same DAE speed and quality.
Around the same write speed.
Around the same read speed.
Seems like lite-on is now MUCH faster than plextor at reading copy protected stuff!!!
Lite-on is normally MUCH cheaper.

Anything else you want me to test?

Yes, this drive supports 8X as the slowest recording speed. Tried setting it to 1X and 4X in CloneCD and it wrote the CD at 8X.........

OC-freak, that is some nice reading speed from the liteon, seemed a lot better than what it was with the initial firmware. Thanks for testing everything out.

btw, if it reads the securom2 original disc that fast, i would think that the reading time for securom1 wouldn't be that much different. But i guess we will get a confirmation soon on that.

I had a yammie 2100ez and just returned it and ordered the liteon 24102b and it kicks azz!!! And it's so much quieter...it doesn't sound like an airplane taking off :)!!

What was your setting for cloneCD for Max Payne.

I have the original and wanted to make a backup and updated my LiteON 24x to the new firmware and write now it has been 23 minutes and it's still reading the disc. It has A LOT more failed to read sectors. Right now it's on 355780 and counting. It stopped where you log stopped at 10038 then started up again at 300000+. Also when I fast error skip it says that the Liteon doesn't support software or none, and it automatical set to Hardware. I'm also using the same ver of clonecd. Thanks.

Funny, someone over at the Clone Clinic forum also had this problem......

I used only fast error skip (set to hardware error correction) when reading. The read errors should stop at around 10000.
