I was looking at the installation instructions for the magic 3.1 mod chip and saw that there were 24 wires to solder. The spots you had to solder to were all so close together i am worried about getting SOLDER ON THE ADJACENT wire and burning out the chip or my ps2 main-board. so i was wondering if there were anY NO_SWAP MODCHIPS With VERY FEW WIRES and work on cd-r, dvd-r, and original DISKS? ALSO I WAS WONDERING WHAT MEDIA I SHOULD USE< THE KIND OF SOLDER AND IF I COULD SEND MY PS OFF TO GET A MOD CHIP SOLDERED ON?

If you are not GOOD at soldering, and have any doubt, I recommend having someone qualified to do it..... If you plan to do it yourself, make sure you use a small pencil type low wattage unit and flux. Get a good flux core small diameter solder for small wire connections. BE CAREFULL!
