When I insert a dvd before anything opens the drive reads the disc and automatically pops-up with an error from anydvd readnig:
Failure to read DVD
This could have several reasons:
1- DVD media is dirty. try to clean it - NO
2-DVD media is damaged you need to replace it. - NO
3-Your drive is a region locked rpc2 drive, which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors from a different region and you try to read a DVD from a different region.
Known drives having this problem are RICHO/PHILIPS DVD writere and Matshita/Panasonic DVD readers and writers. You can try to find a RPC1 pathced firmware @ http://www.rpc1.com
- which is why I asked the previous post.
4- Your drive is an RPC2 drive that has not yet been assigned a Region. Try to assign one, or try to find a RPC1 patched firmware @ http://www.rpc1.com
I have anydvd version 220.127.116.11
Thanks in advance for any input.
