Harris Corp. announced Monday that its 15-meter Global Dataset product has been selected by Microsoft Corp. for a future version of Windows Live Local, which is powered by MSN Virtual Earth.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Features of the imagery available through Global Dataset include advanced tonal balancing of realistic earth colors. The product is produced by Harris' government communications systems division.
