Have you noticed Sony Supremas CDR rot, as I did? The disks I bought degrade from the outer rims and bubble off, flake off or just peel in large chunks . Sometimes I can notice it soon enough 2make an extra copy. I kept them as they need - in the cases or on a spindle, away from the light & heat. No Memorexez or Staples brand were affected - only Sony Supremas.I've already lost a dozen data disks. I tried to contact Sony, getting only "I apologize for the issues you are experiencing and regret that I am unable to assist you in this matter." All the disks have CB0706I11I032A80 topside & inner 'holo' num like "R80ND - D0028 9" / "R80ND - D0038 9". I googled the numbers but got only a hint on a "new organic layer type" or something. I dinnt expect my CDRs to last hundred years, but the layer degradation in a yr or 2... Is it some Taiwan-manufactured junk batch, hidden under the illustriuos Sony name?
