Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas may be symbol of all that's wrong with computer games to some, but it has been the most popular title at the Golden Joystick ceremony in London. The game, which was briefly withdrawn from sale in the US after softcore pornography was found on it, won five of the 19 awards at the ceremony. The two lead characters won Best Villain and Best Hero, while the game as a whole won Best Soundtrack, PS2 Game of the Year and Ultimate Game of 2005. The Golden Joystick Awards was set up in 1982 to celebrate the best computer games and has grown into an event followed worldwide, with 200,000 people voting for this year's winners. This year's ceremony was held at London's Park Lane Hotel. Nintendo was named as Games Publisher of the Year, while Sony celebrated after winning an innovation prize for its PlayStation Portable.
