hi,

I've read somewhere about an good improvement shrink should think about, batch possibility, so I could launch more processes before leaving home to work, but I was wondering if I could launch for example 2 or 3 shrinks a the same time?
this would be nice, because when I'm back home from work, I would have 3 dvd's ready for burn!
anyone tried it?

thanks

Perhaps a better idea would be to ask the makers of DVD Shrink to include a batch process option. It would probably be easier to implement, and maybe faster in the long run too?

Writing a "simple script file" would resolve this issue, if it is not an option available.......just a mere thought

Or perhaps a DOS batch file.... wait.. does ANYONE remember DOS?

the original was QDOS, which actually stood for Quick and Dirty Operating System... I still would feel much more comfortable in a CLI then a GUI if it was more of a viable option [:I]

Right, I was meaning to "write your own" batch or script file.

Actually the original wasn't QDOS it was merely DOS or MSDOS, then along came PCDOS when IBM joined in the ranks.

Unfortunately, there is no way to implement scripting functionality for an application compiled without this in the programer's mind. Perhaps we should ask for a new version allowing this...

Yeah this has been asked for quite a few times but the thing is it is Free for now and it does exactly what it is supposed to do and if people start asking for big improvements that is when the Programers have to spend a lot of their time on it and that is when they have to charge for the program !!!

Actually, a batch file could quite easily be written to "add on" to this function with alot of %% signs to gather the required information that you would need to process the files. The problem with this is... you would really have to be running a SUPER computer to want to do this in the first place, as DVD processing (especially shrink) is VERY CPU intensive, and hard drive intensive as well....none the less, it could be accomplished.

Also, as SP stated above, once the program is compiled to a .exe file, you cannot simply go back and add it, you would need the source code to basically re-write the function in.

Jogso, what you are asking for, is basically, Multitasking added to the function of the program. As Laffin has stated above, it's a free program at no cost, but I'm sure if you emailed him and offered a nice DONATION he probably would consider this request.... It is extremely hard to get people to donate money for software, most just want to use it, because it's free and easy to get, and they totally forget about the author of the program. Even 2 dollars goes quite a long ways, when you have no dollars!!!!

i wasnt asking for anything, i love the program how it is, especially from what ive read about the new release, i was just simply curious how youd rip multiple dvds while away, with some sort of physical changing device? or just having multiple roms in your system..

that be all..
