I think that the DVD shrink haves some issues with the firmware on my ND-3500AG .
I use Maddog latest firmware, and the "EDITED OUT BY MP3MOGUL" DVD shrink , easily crashes , at every reread of the same DVD disk on the  ND-3500AG.
If it loads the movie it works and burns with out problem .

I am confused here, my system has rock stable hardware, the ND-3500AG is mechanically OK,  the DVD shrink haves issues on the second read attempt of the same disk .

I am starting to think that it could be a firmware issue , it looks like I/O commands transfer issue , something like that the Burner it does not act fast enough in the command calls of the software.
I do not know.
Has any one see any deference’s in the behaviour of the DVD shrink, after firmware update, on the ND-3500AG .

Not with regular firmware.  Remember that DVD Shrink is no longer updated, and it hasn't been in quite sometime.  I still use it on an almost daily basis without any issues.

Since it is very easily with NEC drives to change fw, why don't you install the latest official one?

Well i did load the original firmware and all the problems gone away .
My opinion was right .

The point is that i lost the ability for bitseting at the +R media ..
There must be a stable firmware with bitseting , but who is it ?

If it is Mad Dog firmware they also have a utility on the download page that will let you bitset to DVD-ROM.

Yes Maddog firmwares is controled by the utility software i have it .

The primary question still is " What is the most stable firmware other than original and Maddog, that supports also bit- setting  for DVD +R ?  (No DL)
