Hey there !

I have discovered the following during my 6 months of owning a PS2 (5 series) the one just before the slim model.

9 out of 10 games backing up to Verbatim DVD-R work perfectly.

I have had 2 instances of EA Sports games which "faded" (ie: started to load very slow and not work at all after
a few weeks of hectic playing, even though te surface was still perfect)
I re-burned from the original image and it works fine again.

Also I have found with some games if I burn it to DVD-R Verbatim it takes long to load, cut scenes load slowly and just general it a veeeeeeeeery long process going from screen to screen. Burning the exact same image to DVD-RW Verbatim and it works perfectly.  Anybody have any ideas on why ? Is the RW more reflective or better read by the laser ? am I shortening the lifespan of the lasing burning to DVD-RW ?

I'd really appreciate if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks !!

Verbatim media are excellent. If you compare them to low quality media such as Prince it is logical to came to this conclusion. Taiyo Yuden are also great. But remember the quality is combination between the burner and the media.
