Twenty-four hours after England`s demolition of Australia in their Twenty20 match, Codemasters release more news on Lara`s return... Regardless of whether it’s mere coincidence or opportunist, Codemasters has today released more details of Brian Lara International Cricket, which is set for launch on July 21st 2005 on Xbox, PlayStation2 and PC. With England beating Australia by 100-runs in the Twenty20 match yesterday, and the Ashes Series set to get the two countries into leather on Willow fever, Brian Lara International Cricket is set to take advantage of all the attention that the game will be receiving during the Summer. The game is set to feature seven game modes that will pretty much cover all bases in the sport, including various Exhibition matches, Tournaments, and other options for gamers to utilise such as Coaching and even relaxing back at the Pavilion. Exhibition Mode The Exhibition Modes breakdown into three types of game from One-Day Internationals where gamers can limit the number of overs (up to 50 – meaning Twenty20 styles games can be played), to ‘5-Day’ Test Matches, and Double Wicket games. Tournament With the game enjoying backing from the ICC, Brian Lara International Cricket is able to offer players the chance to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup and the ICC Champions Trophy. Other tournaments available in the game include World Tours, Double Wicket Tournament, and World XI matches. Challenge Matches The game enters the world of Cricket fantasy in the Challenge Matches with gamers able to take control of historical matches at critical points in the game in the Classic Match mode. The World XI Challenge sees players take on the ultimate Cricket team made up from the today’s best cricketers, whilst the Classic XI Challenge sees gamer’s World XI take on a historical best XI made from the greatest cricket players ever. Coaching Brian Lara International Cricket also includes training/coaching sessions that include time in The Nets to improve the batting/bowling skills of the team. Create Player Players are able to customise their own player to represent their profiled country – with the option of including licensed kit manufacturers and skill stats. The Pavilion This is where players can bask in their Cricketing glories with cabinets to display their various trophies and records. Gamers can also unlock photographs of historical matches and players. We’ll have more on Brian Lara International Cricket shortly... Source : TVG
