Well, I found the Maxell 40x CD-Rs made by Hitachi to be quite good

the 48x CD-Rs made by hitatchi should be somewhat similar I would think.

48x made by Ritek and TY were excellent.
I expect the Hitachi disc's to be guide good however they might be incompatible with some recorders.

Are you talking about those that Office Depot are selling? I bought them not long ago and haven't had any problems so far (although I didn't like the fact that they are made by Hitachi Maxell instead of TY or Ritek).

Hmm, except for one thing though: My Yamaha (CRW2200E) can't burn them in a speed greater than x8 [B)]. I have a TY Yamaha cd-r and it burns it at x20, so I'm not sure if the problem is with the recorder or not. I choose x20 speed and Nero says it's recording at x20, but the time it takes to complete the burn is equal to a x8 burn.
