If u r using Win XP, dun 4get 2 go 2 My Compter > Properties > System Restore > Check Box to turn off system restore b4 starting ur filing deleting process. Otherwise, ur deleted files will b automatically restored on ur nx bootup.

I cannot thank you enough for this post!  I've been wrestling with this damn AZESEARCH bar all freaking day long.

Not only that, but at the same time I contracted this Anti-Virus Gold that always shut down my browser whenever I tried to open explorer (for that I had to go into safe mode and delete "hookdrop.exe" in case anyone's interested...)

Thank you so much for this post, it saved my sanity.

I don't post much to techie boards because all I am is a dabbler and I find that most of the real tech-heads tend not to tolerate my amateur attitudes...

BUT...if any of you are in the cleveland area and you'd like to get involved, I manage a non-profit that may be soon to acquire a number of computers from a friend who's replacing all of the computers for the Department of Labor.

Since I'm hoping to make a home-based server network a part of the non-profit, I figured I'd drop the hint and see if anyone wanted to get more involved.

If this message hadn't shown up on my search engine, I don't know what I would've done.

Pateticus

PS--for some reason, my ZipDrive won't work and I'm still pulling up nothing on Google...so there's probably more I need to delete...

Both "XoftSpy" and "SpySweeper" remove these pieces of filth.

i have been using Spysweeper for about one year now .This software although it takes up  bit of resources, its really helpfull in keeping the spyware, adware, browser hijacker etc etc away form your system. And talking bout its interface its pretty simple and clear.

oddly enough,
i was playing around today and got this on one of my test systems at work.
after going through it for awhile.
one of this things i like to do is check into these things and it keeps me busy all day.
the file listing up top is good and a fast way to get rid of them is to remove all permissions
then claim ownership if you dont have it already, put yourself with full permissions, then open up a cmd
and go to system32 and use taskman to kill explorer. then remove the files.
the thing that bugs me, is that when i first got this, it greyed out all windows system boxes.
like taskman and display properties, it'd let you look but not play. which is why i really was interested
in this baby. However i found nothing like that once i rebooted into safe mode, played with it and moved
back into regular mode.. any of you guys play with this one yet?

also it would pop up a windows alert on the taskbar saying there was a file c:\windows\system32\keylogger.exe on my system grabbing passwords, which was just funny.. then when you clicked on it, it would pop you to a website..
antispywarelabs.com or something.. kind of hilarious really.

anyways, i played with this for a couple hours today taking it apart. me and my gf who's a developer here are gonna sit down tonight and take it apart for fun. we'll let you know what pops up.
