I have a Pioneer 109 which can write CDRs at 16x CLV, 24x Z-CLV and 32x P-CAV.

I would like to know which writing speed is best suited for creating master quality audio CDs?

i would choose 16X CLV with a good quality CD-R media, like TY

Yes, better lower, not lower however than 16X, and with a stable speed.

16x CLV for me as well ... from my findings with various devices and MCC/TY 48x media, choosing this speed this will lead to lowest overall BLER and jitter values.

The only technology I despise is Z-CLV since minute 'gaps' or 'links' are created for each zone (speed change), which is physically visible with Cyanine/AZO based media. Even though this very, very small 'gap' is almost non-existent with the advancement of BURN-Proof etc., I prefer no gap at all. Even CAV writing at ~48X using quality media can result to lower error rates than some drives @ 16X on the wrong media. C1/C2/CU scans show this.

Yes thi is true. The quality is a result of a good combination between drive and media, so the speed is most times something subjective.
