Hi all,

I've got hold of a .img file that I want to check out, preferably before I burn it to disk, so i'm looking for a bit of advice on how to;

a) View the contents of the .img file before I burn
b) Know how to go about burning the file, are .img's similar to .bin files in that you need a .cue file?
c) Which Software should I use? Alcohol 120% perhaps? (just downloaded it so it'll be the first time i've used it)

Thanks in advance for any help

WinImage or IsoBuster should let you view the contents of the file. Nero should let you burn it. I don't think img files are the same as bin/cue.

IMG/CUE files are originaly from CDRWIN you can read them with Isobuster or Winiso and extract the whole image to your hard drive to burn as data or you can convert them to ISO and burn with most apps

Ok, I managed to have a look at the files with ISO buster, however it did'nt really confirm what I was looking for (to see if it was going to be the english install or multilanguage install)

I guess i'll just need to burn it and find out, how should I go about using nero to burn the .img file? In the folder along with the .img file are two other files, one is a .ccd file the other a .sub file.

Thanks again

After a bit of tinkering I managed to burn the .img with Nero, turned out to be a multilanguage install so had to try something else.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, i've picked up a few useful progs and learned a fair bit too.
