Allows content to come alive in Adobe PDF files

Strata, the company adding a new dimension to the designer’s toolset, today announced the upcoming release of Strata 3D Live, a product that allows 3D content to come alive in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Adding Strata 3D CX, and Strata 3D Live to the Adobe user’s workflow will empower designers to create presentations, documentation and proposals that go well beyond today’s offerings.

“Adobe users want to communicate their ideas with 3D,” stated Ken Bringhurst, Strata president. “Now designers can begin a project with Adobe Illustrator , push it into the third dimension in Strata 3D CX, apply graphics and textures to the objects using linked, layered Adobe Photoshop files, and render a photorealistic illustration. Then, using Strata 3D Live, the same 3D content can be output as an Adobe PDF document.”

“The combination of Strata 3D Live and Adobe PDF is a strong solution for customers who need to share or collaborate on 3D content with internal workgroups or beyond the firewall with partners and customers,” said Bahman Dara, senior product marketing manager for Acrobat, Intelligent Documents Business Unit, Adobe. “By supporting Adobe PDF in Strata 3D Live, Strata will enable users to ensure that anyone can view and interact with 3D content as it was intended, simply by using Acrobat 7.0 or even the free Adobe Reader 7.0.”

Adobe has distributed over half-a-billion copies of Adobe Reader software since the product’s 1993 introduction.
