Use disks made by Mitsui or Taiyo Yuden I have some of these discs which are 3 years old and still have zero problems with them. (They can still be read at full speed with my plextor 24/10/40A and the plextor 40TSI cdrom player of a friend) Some have even layed quite long from out of there box. For CD-rw Use Ricoh/TDK made discs have some 3 years old and they still work some written many times and some writen once and they both have now problems. Okay I know that they are more expensive than most Leaddata,Princo,CMC magnetics, M MORE discs, Baer Moser. But then again you can still read them after 3 years and you won't have problems after some months. Personnally favorites: Mitsui unbranded Basf Ceram Guard (made by Tayo Yuden with a very hard upper layer. Even better than most normal cd's)
