Well thanks to new technology future Grannies, and the rest of us, will be able to talk to the TV and get a response.

Cable companies have started voice prompt in the US with the idea is to remove the hassle of having to call toll free numbers on advertisements.

Comcast, the largest US cable company is testing the system as it believes will increase response to advertisers and which will help viewers scan for movies and sport.

Voice activated TVs and remote controls are not new but cable and satellite TV companies are forever seeking ways to make TV more interactive.
