I fould Fuji's CD-R always on promo in popular electronic store - BestBuy which now offer rebates on Fuji's 50-pk CD-R. And I wonder who make the Fuji's blue plastic wrapped spindle CD-Rs. I aware that their old CDR discs are manufactured by Ritek but how about their discs those are commonly sells in retail?

If they say "made in Japan" on them, then they were made by Taiyo Yuden, which would be VERY good

Yup. Its at the point now where there isnt anymore Ritek stock in America and its pretty much all TY. The earliest ive heard advertised and picked up at Best Buy is 16x Fuji media, which is still TY, haha.

Although I too, have never seen Fuji's in the US from anywhere but Japan (TY Media), that doesn't mean it isn't possible.

I just saw some Fuji 100pk at Bestbuy today that were made in Taiwan. I live in california, LA. So, I guess there're some Taiwan made Fuji's in the US now. And just wondering who makes these discs and their quality?

They are indeed Prodisc, but I am sure that they are no good, especially when compared to TY.

Well, the ProDisc are not near the quality of TY media, but I have used them for quite some time without any problems.

I'm not a big fan of Prodisc personally, but that is simply because I can get better quality media for much cheaper! Prodisc is very good at being not bad, and bad at being very good. I would classify it as reliably ok media, but never great.

Dolphinius... LOL that was a "well worded" post....... and alot of truth to it...... I think that perhaps it depends on the burner that you are using, and the firmware that is installed.....! Thanks for sharing with us!

I'm in Hawaii and all but one type of Fuji at CompUSA here are made in Taiwan. And I think they are getting rid of the made in Japan discs.
