Hello

I ran the A304 update just now... its been hung for over 15 minutes.

What can I do to recover / not lose my drive?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Nvm... the whole computer ended up hanging and I had to restart... turns out the firmware update took, though I reflashed for good measure. (phew)

Hi:

I've just applied de update you mentioned that crashed you DVDRW. Fortunaly for me everything went right.

What I mean is that maybe you did something wrong that crashed your drive, here's what you should have done before the update.

1.- Configure the drive alone as Master, well jumped and with no other drive as Slave.
2.- Unload every resident program in the bakground.
3.- No program running, no virtual CD's dirve, no internet, no antivirus, no spyware... "NOTHING RUNNING"
4.- NO CD in the tray.
5.- Apply update and the led will blink for about 30 Secs and will ask u to reebot.

If you misspassed somethig I mentioned above, there might be the cuse of the failure.

I hope this will help you to know "What went wrong" I am not willig to tell you waht to do now. maybe you'll fiond some help in other forum toics here in CDRINFO.

Godd luck,

Nirvi

As mentioned in the edit (~30mins after the post), I got lucky... the firmware update took... though I reflashed for good measure.

It was probably running too many apps (or perhaps a burning app that didnt unload properly) that got me...

Fortunately everything worked out... Thanks for the heads up though.
