It happens with any firmware. I've tried nec 1.26 original firm, LD3520-1.u7, etc, i get these errors with any firmware. I use Binflash gui 1.11 and 1.12.

Then the drive keeps blinking, being unable to open it.

Seems like you have a problem here, i don't know if flashing from DOS will help

artick, if you still can't flash it, try going into safe mode. I had the same problem as you did, and it worked fine in safe mode with Binflash 1.14 GUI.

If I were you I would send it back...or wait for the new 3540A and swap it with that one.
After all, you have payed for a drive that shouldn't have problems with flashing,and yours does not fulfill this specs.

do you have your 3520a drive set as the master drive on the ide cable? also u might need to actually boot into dos, not just use the dos prompt from inside windows.
