GLOBAL HANDSET SALES jumped 30% last year. Gartner estimates total handset sales for 2005 will reach 730 million units. In 2004, Nokia was the market leader shipping 207.2m units, a 30.7% market share. Motorola was second with 15.4% market share, 104.1m units, followed by Samsung, 85.2m units, 12.6% market share. Siemens ranked fourth, with a 7.2% of the market. South American sales almost doubled to 73 million units.
