But release 70 still Beta...
While it will remain beta until Nvidia finishes testing it, a beta release of Forceware 70 has been available on the firm's site for a few days now. Nvidia tested 60 games and applications and added it to the SLI ready list. This driver also brings support for 6200 with the Turbo Cache series, better video support called PureVideo and of course better SLI support.
Sources close to Nvidia said this driver has much better SLI support and lets you do many things that you could not manage with Forceware release 65.
Nvidia tested more games with its SLI setup as this dual card move is very important to sales for the Santa Clara based company.
This is all about winning in the charts and halls of fame, and always was. You have to bear in mind that two 6800 Ultra costs almost double the price of ATI's high end X850 XT PE card.
Nvidia will let you make your own SLI profile for the games that are not currently listed and you will be able to do this through a CoolBit applet. Until now, you could not do much about it.
The company paid more attention to HDTV support as you can tweak more things than you used to be able to and Nvidia added multiple display support for Windows remote desktop. This sounds like a nice thing if you use remote desktop and have to access both desktops.
We heard more than once from Nvidia that everyone is excited about this driver and you can already download it and play with it till you got the WHQLd one. The official release is expected very soon.
