The Go Daddy Group, Inc., an ICANN Registrar, yesterday announced that it will issue its Turbo SSL Certificate to bona-fide open source software projects free of charge. According to the company, its SSL certificates offer both businesses and individuals a higher level of security and privacy for online transactions where sensitive information is exchanged. The Turbo SSL certificates are issued within minutes, have 99% browser recognition, and provide 128-bit Web server security.
"We are a big supporter of the open source community," said Bob Parsons, president and founder, The Go Daddy Group, Inc. "Go Daddy offers numerous open source software applications in conjunction with our hosting plans, specifically, blogging, image galleries, content management and more. We will augment these offerings in the coming months."
