Both 3G and GSM phones are currently on display from Samsung at 3GSM World Congress, including the new Z500, Z300 and Z130.

The Samsung SGH-Z500
Measuring 89 x 44 x 24.5 mm and weighing 95 g, the SGH-Z500 is certainly a small mobile phone given its feature set. Being a 3G phone it sports GSM, WCDMA 900/1800/1900/2100 MHz functionality, and also comes with an internal 18-bit TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, an external 16-bit OLED display, integrated 1.3 and 0.3 megapixel cameras, as well as Bluetooth and IrDA for PAN connectivity.

The SGH-Z500 aims to offer user-friendly 3G features, including video telephony, video streaming and video messaging, and the phone does also offer a multimedia player supporting Real, MPEG, H.263, MP3, AAC and AAC+ formats. The internal memory of the phone is 50 MB, while a TransFlash expandable memory slot has also been included. Expected availability of the SGH-Z500 is June 2005.

The Samsung SGH-Z300
Focusing on music, the SGH-Z300 includes an MP3/AAC/AAC+ player offering stereo sound and a sound equalizer. The phone measures 89 x 47 x 25.5 mm and weighs 110 g, and incorporates an internal 18-bit TFT display, an external 16-bit OLED display, Bluetooth, IrDA, a 1 megapixel camera, 50 MB internal memory, and a TransFlash expandable memory slot.

Also this phone supports GSM, WCDMA 900/1800/1900/2100 MHz functionality, enabling video telephony, video streaming and video messaging. Furthermore the SGH-Z300 offers a 3D graphics accelerator, as well as support for J2ME and WAP 2.0/XHTML. Expected availability of the SGH-Z500 is June 2005.

The Samsung SGH-Z130
The SGH-Z130 features a 1 megapixel camera with flash and rotating lens, a swiveling landscape 18-bit TFD display, and a landscape UI with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. Operating on GSM, WCDMA 900/1800/1900/2100 MHz network frequencies, the SGH-Z130 offers 3G features, as well as Bluetooth and 48 MB of internal memory. A multimedia player supporting Real, MPEG, H.263, MP3, AAC and AAC+ has also been added.

The Samsung SGH-E720
The SGH-E720 comes with an internal memory of 88 MB, offering storage of 15-20 songs for its integrated MP3/AAC/AAC+ player. According to Samsung an external music key is also included. Measuring 90 x 45 x 23 mm and weighing in at 90 g, the GSM tri-band SGH-E720 sports an internal 18-bit TFT display, a 1 megapixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom, and supports Bluetooth, MP3 ringtones, WAP 2.0 and J2ME MIDP 2.0. Expected availability of the SGH-E720 is April 2005.

In May 2005, an upgraded version of the SGH-E720 called SGH-E730 is expected to hit the shelves, adding FM radio to the picture.

The Samsung SGH-D720
The GSM tri-band SGH-D720 is Samsung's first commercially available Symbian-based mobile phone, offering a 1 megapixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom, a 18-bit TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 208 pixels, MP3/AAC/AAC+ player, Bluetooth and an expandable memory slot.

The Samsung SGH-E350
Featuring a slide-up design, VGA flash camera and Push To Talk functionality, the GSM tri-band SGH-E350 measures 87 x 45 x 21 mm and weighs 75 g. The SGH-E350 also comes with a MP3/AAC player, XHTML browser, J2ME and polyphonics support, and a 1.66" 16-bit TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.

The GSM tri-band Samsung SGH-X640 and SGH-E340 was also introduced, both clamshell phones with VGA cameras. In addition, the SGH-E340 features Bluetooth, a MP3 player, and both internal and external displays.
