I hope it will happen soon ;)

Do you have first impressions for this drive?

1108

But to be ownest until some firmware which I cannot remember, it was good. Latetly, not too much offcourse, this changed so I gave it to friend for a Philips.[;)]

If I get it right, the early FW´s were better than the newer ones?

That's what he means, but if I had a word to say about the 1016.... I would say that it's too
unstable with all that firmware upgrades(downgrades)most of the time....
It should've been tested more thoroughly before entering the market...
conclusion?I'm stuck with it and all it's "firmware upgrades"[>:]

In my short experience something like that.[:)]

digitaldoc -> RE: Review of the BTC 1016? (1/22/2005 10:53:46 PM)

I must say that my BTC 1008 is disappointing. They haven't released a firmware upgrade in 6 months at this point. I don't expect anything so great out of BTC 1016 or any thing else. I think there are better choices out there.

emperor -> RE: Review of the BTC 1016? (1/23/2005 3:29:55 AM)

We had many problems with BTC 1016, already the first drive returned back with serious damage, the second drive, even works, its writing quality is very bad, we already have wasted too many media (Especially DL) so i don't know if and when a review would published

digitaldoc -> RE: Review of the BTC 1016? (1/23/2005 4:34:00 PM)

I think that BTC keeps releasing drives with the latest specs, but they have yet to produce one drive with a mature firmware, and high writing quality. This guarantees they will always be 2nd or more like 3rd tier. A shame in the end, I thought they had potential to be the new LiteOn.

It is a new LiteOn, look at the bad writing quality [:)]
