I know its not much, here is some first information...

Apparently there are two Ricoh DVD+R DL ID codes:

* RICOHJPNR00, first generation samples, same dye as 2.4X DVD+R
* RICOHJPND00, second generation samples, possibly same dye as RICOHJPNR02 (8X DVD+R) and supposed the real DVD+R DL discs [:)][;)]

You are damn sure minos we will get them soon, btw i heard Prodisc and CMC Magnetics DL media started shipping to manufacturers for testing...[8D]

What's a good place to see reviews of the quality of these media be they
dual or single layer (8.4 vs. 4.7 gb) as a function of the recording speed
4x vs. 8x?

Hi,
I've found the excellent review on the 2500A in your reviews sections
(http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=8910)
and I would like to find a review(s) comparing which media is better for this
particular drive and at what speed (ie. 4x or 8x). I've seen thedolphinreview
but that is limited to cd's.
