on read only or protected discs does anyone know how i can delete the files on them

thanks 4 reply i have cd that i wanna delete all files on but when i try o delete them i get the error this is a read only disc you may not delete or move any of the files or sometimes the error is its a write protected disc

Hi zu_magic_warrior
Unless it is a CDRW disk there is no way to delete the files!
On an Original disk from a Publisher you have no chance !
With a CDR once you have Finalized the CD it does what it says Finalize the Writing on the CD so nothing can be altered or removed !
You say you want to delete ALL of the Files Quite easy just smash the CD into pieces !!!

This is the funniest question I have seen!

(no offence intended of course!)

Maybe you could copy the files you want onto the HDD, and burn them to CD-R/RW and then you have effectivly 'deleated' the ones you didn't want!??

Thats why they call them CD-ROM's --> Compact Disc - Read Only Memory, which means no file deleation is possible unless you follow Laffin Assassin's advice or find your favourite sharp-pointed object...
