killalot57 -> Unexpected shutdown (3/11/2008 3:00:22 AM)

Seconds after my last post I plugged in my headphones and my restarted, sometimes this happens when I plug in a key "mini-portable harddrive", when I rebooted I asked me to send an error report 3 times, and refered me to a page suggesting I update my bios... The following links might help you...

Here I am asking what a bio is

Heres a page that has some of my computer info

Update, I figured that is shutsdown randomly about once or twice a day I don't think it has much to do with hardware or bios.

Boot a ISO of MemTest86+ and check your RAM.

Okay, I downloaded it and mounted it to a virtual drive with "magic ISO" but how exactly do I boot of of it, would it be worth it to burn the file to a cd considering how small it is, or can I put it on a usb key and boot off that, and if so that how do you do that? Thanks

Yep... you need to burn the ISO to a disc... ImgBurn does a great job.  Once you burn it, boot from it and let it run overnight.  If you have any errors they will turn up... any failure in ram means it is bad ram.

K, I ran it "but not overnight" and it said there were no errors... so I guess muy ram is okay... but I a way thats bads news because now we still don't know what the problem is do we.... hmm...
