Hi,

I have updated my 6500A laptop's DVD rom by using a firmware which downloaded from TDB website so as to crack the region limitation, the firmware woks ok under the windows environment; however, my NEC laptop cant recognize the DVD rom anymore which means I cant boot from DVD! Is there anyone who can offer me an OEM version of the 6500A firmware or any good suggestion that I can make the BIOS regconize the DVD rom again? Thank you!

For pretty much all things NEC related, you should stick with the firmwares from Liggy & Dee.  http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/6500/
Make sure you use Liggy's latest NEC Binflash since that might be newer than the one integrated with the firmware.  http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/
