yeah whenever i try to transfer stuff using gigabeat room it crashes, does this have anything to do with using xp 64 bit?

it is highly possible...have you tried on 32bit OS?

...like Antonio said...it could really be something about using 64bit OS...try with 32 bit (just to be sure) and then let us know, so that we could assist/help you further if needed...[;)]
