Simple question!

I have a large collection of CD-R and DVD discs full of divx (.avi) movies and recordings of sporting events in divx format. Can I watch this movies in DVD recorder Sony rdr hx710 by simply inserting my existing DVD disc in maching and selecting the file I want?

If your player doesn't support DivX then you cannot play them. You'll have to convert them to DVD-Video format first in order to be playable to your Sony.

I think the  SONY RDR-HX710 DVD writer with internal hard drive is not compatible with DivX files, unless I found something incorrect on the net.[:D][;)]

Correct you need a Divx enabled player in order to playback Mpeg4 encoded files
